I got called in for overtime again last night so this morning I am grumpy. I got ready for work in a daze. Sleep deprivation is not a pretty thing. After all one form of torture is forcing prisoners to stay awake for extended periods of time. I need at least 8 hours.
For breakfast I had my staple Bear Naked Fit granola in Vanilla Almond Crunch with yummy whole almonds, Kroger brand low-fat vanilla yogurt (can you tell I like Vanilla?) and frozen organic blueberries. I drank one of the two diet cokes I still have each day. About a month ago I was drinking between 8-10 a day. I've sworn for years that I would never give up my diet coke habit. I love diet coke. However, as I began cleaning up my eating I started questioning putting all those chemicals into my body. Enter water (not bottled) and the water has just taken over. I hope to let go of the last two in the next couple of week and be caffeine free. I may take a couple of days off while I go through what I hope is a mild withdrawal.
More later...

Good luck on getting rid of that diet coke and thanks for the congrats :)
ReplyDeleteHey thanks for commenting on my blog :-) Good luck with giving up Diet Coke. I like to think of it as "cutting back" and its less scary to work a food out of your diet. Also, you could find something tasty in its place, like a really yummy tea! Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you cutting down on the Diet Cokes. When you were drinking 8 to 10 a day that must have been an expensive habit! I think the healthier you become you will want to get rid of things like that from your daily diet. You will probably find that your body doesn't crave them anymore either.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteThanks for you comment. I am so glad you are following raw, I love it!! I am still transitioning. I am about 80%-ish raw, I would say with some days 100%, we will get there!
I am following your blog also.
Oh! I read your previous post and the only vinegar we raw foodist are allowed is Apple Cider Vinegar, it's lovely.
Have you joined Raw Fu? I have a link to join on my blog if you are interested.
Anyway that is me for now, I MUST update my blog...I got lazy...tut, tut
Have a good day
Hugs x
I used to be so addicted to diet coke! But then it started really messing with my stomach, and I hated the fact I was drinking so many chemicals. It took quite a few tries and LOTS of withdrawal symptoms, but I've finally quit diet soda (and artificial sweeteners, too). I feel sooo much better now! Good luck giving it up :)
